Treading Water

Another one of those wall-to-wall days bookended by two 3 1/2-hour meetings -- with several hours of preparation for the second meeting in between numbers one and two. Which means nothing else gets done today. Just hold my breath, ride the waves and hope nothing goes crazy until after tomorrow morning's next 3 1/2-hour meeting, when I can start trying again to swim upstream.

The Waves

- 3 1/2-hour budget committee meeting at the neighborhood school
- Several hours of work sorting through almost a week's worth of unanswered e-mail for the Neighborhood Council and pulling handouts together for tonight's meeting
- 3 1/2-hour NC Land Use Committee meeting
- Home at 10:15 p.m., exhausted, to find the house not picked up...and the cleaning lady comes tomorrow (when I have another 8:30 a.m. budget meeting)
