The Hurrieder I Go, The Behinder I Get

(Friday:) Started out with an 8:15 volunteer-recruitment breakfast at the neighborhood school. Except the person who had volunteered to cook the food (we did set aside money for catering, but she insisted we shouldn't spend it and that she wanted to do all the cooking herself) apparently bit off more than she could chew, and didn't deliver the food until 10:45. The organizers (not me this time, thankfully) forged ahead and put together a fairly nice meeting, but people did wonder why they'd been invited to a "breakfast" where there was no food. Volunteer signups were scant, as usual. After that, sat in on a budgeting kick-off meeting with the Compensatory Education Advisory Committee, which got bogged down in discussion of a bylaws technicality that has caused a lot of misunderstandings and hurt feelings among those directly affected.

In the end:
- Attended school volunteer breakfast and CEAC meeting
- Had a few other miscellaneous conversations with school folks to nail down meeting dates, projects, etc., and delivered a few things I'd been promising to give, show or lend to people there
- Finished wrestling with supposed-to-have-been five minute music downloads started on Thursday
- Wrote NC board meeting agenda
- Delivered and posted agenda via e-mail, website, Facebook, Twitter
- Discovered our garage door covered with graffiti and located the taggers on our security camera footage: 3 young teenage boys, on their way to school at 7:45 a.m.
- Answered a lot of e-mail, etc.
